I'm so sorry i'm late, i'm a little mindless.
Let's talk about Warped Tour.
I went to my first ever, on Monday, and the day started out somewhat rocky. After a breakfast of champs at Starbucks, and a beautiful breezy morning, we decided optimism was going to be our best bet. We were getting a late start but it was completely okay. I feel like attitude was our key for the success of our day. After traffic, our car over heating, a long walk to the amphitheater, and 95 degrees, Dyllon, Chase, and I, began what was going to be the longest, and most chaotic day ever.
Once inside the gates, I knew that it was going to be a day where I had no energy left in me by the time we got in the car to head home. Woohoo let's do it.
I knew several of the bands, but my main focus was We The Kings. Upon making our already exhausted selves through the gates, the first thing we did, (besides get shoved around a bit by people) was buy a schedule. A little overwhelming at first, over 100 bands graced the page. After marking our must sees, we ventured down to the first show. Terror and Crown the Empire.
Two bands i've never heard of before, and to be honest, I didn't pay attention to what the words of their songs were. They were bands Chase wanted to see. But I will give them credit. The adrenaline rush they put out, was breath taking. I can not tell you how many times during Warped Tour I felt my heart race because of some good music. We got close enough to Terror we were basically face to face with the guards. The lead singer crowd surfed and a huge pit opened, where Chase proceeded to jump in. I don't mosh. I'll get killed.
Once the Terror show was over we walked around to different stands, and checked out our surroundings. That in between time is such a blur to me now. The next thing I really remember is going down the amphitheater to see Anberlin. Those guys can put on a show! Not to mention their admirers were so loud and supportive. I was just thankful to be in the shade to be honest. After the Anberlin show, we proceeded to the bushes. Odd? Nah. Warped Tour. The only concert where you can take a nap in the bushes, and no one will notice. We didn't have any more shows to see for almost 2 hours, and I personally didn't want to be anymore fried than I already was.
This is how we Warped Tour.
We probably would not have made it the rest of the day had we not napped in the bushes haha.
Make due with what you have people.
5:45 we head over to where, Falling in Reverse, For Today, We The Kings, and Yellowcard would be playing at the two Kia stages. Yellowcard played "Ocean Avenue" and "Only one" and I drifted back to my early teens for a bit. I discovered a newfound love for Falling In Reverse, mostly because Ronnie Radke is such a psycho. Haha! It was during this show that my head got smashed by a crowd surfer, but thankfully that was the only instance the entire day. Hardcore problems i've learned are going to happen no matter how hard I try and avoid it. It wasn't bad though, because he was scrawny. Once the Falling In Reverse show was over, I kind of decided to shove my way to the front of the crowd, because I had been waiting all day for this. We The Kings. I got weed blown in my face and Chase dispersed and made his way to see For Today, but my sweet husband stuck by me, which was nice of him. It was so surreal to see them up close after seeing them only on CTFxC vlogs. (i'll explain CTFxC later)
We The Kings was such an amazing show!!
It was so strange because I felt so comfortable with them, It was fun and made me happy, and everyone sang along. EVERYONE!
When they sang "Say You Like Me" Travis didn't even have to sing, the audience proceeded to sing for him. I love the sound of a bunch of people singing together. I had chills. When the last song began, (Their ever so famous, Check Yes Juliet) I pushed my way side stage, I had someone very important to meet.
Okay. Okay.. I know I need to do this, because I am a total nerd. Not many people I know watch youtube. I can think right off the bat, of 2 other people ONLY, that know who I am talking about when I say CTFxC or the name Charles Trippy.
Charles Trippy, is a you tuber. He has taken a video blog of himself, every day, for 1,916 days as of today. He has dubbed his channel as "CTFxC (Charles Trippy Friend Core) The videos are usually 10 minutes or so long, and basically sums up his day. After having a brain tumor removed (which was filmed for his vlog) and tested, last year, he was diagnosed with Brain Cancer. His story grabbed my heart right around the time that I was getting married, and I began to watch. Most people I know watch some form of tv, but I watch youtube. I head over to the CTFxC channel at noon every day and watch to see what Charles is up to. His story has drawn me in and I love watching. He is the bass player for We The Kings, who quickly made their way to the top of my list of favorite bands. Since December, his cancer has shrunk significantly thanks to 5 rounds of chemo, that he manages along with being on tour. His most recent round of chemo was taken WHILE on Warped Tour during this past month. If that isn't something to admire, I don't know what is. Not only does Charles endure a 4 month tour in the middle of summer and live on a bus in a small space the entire time, he was on CHEMOTHERAPY. This guy is my hero I swear! Prayers for him are a regular thing for him, because he has had a few seizures recently, but they seem to be less likely when he has gotten some rest. He's a fighter and an awesome person from what I see, in an awesome band, and seeing him in front of me, was un real. After every show he makes his way side stage, to speak to every single one of his viewers and take a photo with them. Such an awesome guy and right when I thought I might stop watching him, Warped Tour happened and it changed my outlook on everything.
I may not have explained it well enough, but if I had to, I would say that he inspires me. I take inspiration and run with it, and Charles knows how to make me realize that life will keep going no matter how hard. He's not just someone I watch, he's someone who I feel connected with, someone I can relate to, and so many others do as well. He cares for us like we care for him. He reminded me to "Just Keep Breathing". He pushed through harder things, when I thought my life was hard, and he inspired me to document every single day and to not care what other people think of me.
He made Warped Tour the BEST DAY EVER.
I hope I explained him the way he deserves.
I hope y'all enjoyed this. Leave a comment.
